Ecology Center - Ecology Counselor in Training

Do you want to learn what it takes to be a great camp counselor? CIT’s will not only learn new skills, but have a great summer camp experience as well! You will spend the first two weeks learning about communication, leadership, problem solving and teamwork. During the second two weeks, you will work with either Kinglet or EcoQuest Camp where you will play with campers, assist counselors and lead activities.

In addition to counselor training, campers will participate in a variety of activities; including canoeing, bicycling, field trips, camp site visits and beach days. A schedule will be provided prior to the start of camp. Some drop-off and pick-up locations will vary during the program.

As this is a counselor in training program for the Ecology Center Camps, the program also will include topics related to the environment — such as responsible resource use, how to be a good “eco role model” and how to help campers understand how to be friendlier towards the planet. There is no Pre- or Post-camp Care available for this program. Note: the content of the two sessions is identical; due to high demand, registration is limited to one session. If you have questions about the program, please call (847) 448-8256.
