Ecology Center - Summer Summit

Every child should have the opportunity to discover wilderness, camp under the stars, follow a trail, catch and release fish and insects, plant a flower and play in the water. We will “Leave No Child Inside” as we experience these and other outdoor adventures inspired by the Chicago Wilderness movement.  This movement encourages children to play on their own, to explore and simply to be in natural surroundings. Campers will design forts, go fishing, participate in classic outdoor games, canoe, go on field trips and beach days, and catch lightening bugs at our annual family campout at the lakefront (weather permitting).

Each section meets at the Lighthouse Nature Center for one week and the Ecology Center for one week.  Space is limited, so sign up early! Pre- and Post-camp Care is available.  For more details on Pre- and Post-camp Care, click HERE.
