Ecology Center - Wildflower Camp

This unique preschool program is designed to develop small and large motor skills, creativity and imagination, while exploring science and experiencing the joys of nature. Each two-week session meets Monday through Thursday and has a unique theme. Daily activities combine outdoor exploration with play, crafts, stories, songs and nature discoveries. Campers must be potty trained.

Session I - Textures in Nature
In this "hands-on" experience, campers discover the tactile differences around them. Stories, activities and crafts center on natural textures, such as bark, scales, skin, fur and pebbles. Campers will also investigate how these textures can influence basic scientific principles in nature!

Session II - Hide 'n' Seek
Peek a Boo! I see you! Some animals use camouflage, but if you look closely, you can find them! Campers will explore their sense of sight, hearing and smell to learn how insects, birds and other animals hide from view.

Session III - Walk a While in My Feet (or Paws)
Learn what its like to be different animals! Each day, campers will role-play and pretend to be a different bird, mammal or insect! Animal characteristics will be investigated by your young biologist so he or she can answer questions such as, “how can birds fly?”.

Session IV - Wonders of Water
All living things need water, so let’s dive in! Campers will make a splash discovering the amazing adaptations of aquatic plants and animals, as well as the wonders of water properties.
