Description
A shorter, pinker beardtongue with enormous pollinator value, Hairy Beardtongue attracts bees, butterflies, Sphinx moths, and hummingbirds. Chickadees, Cardinals, Wrens and others may eat the seeds. Easy to grow, it is a host plant for the the federally endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee and the Baltimore checkerspot butterfly. It gets its common name from its hairy stems.
