Description
There is always room to add Jacob's Ladder to squeeze in extra color and wildlife value. Short and easy to grow, bell-like sprays of lavender are favored by many bees, skippers, butterflies and moths, including a specialist bee Andrena polemonii that only fees on Polemonium pollen and two moths for which Jacob's Ladder is larval host. ""Jacob's Ladder"" refers to the configuration of the leaves in opposite pairs like ladder rungs.
