Description
A statement plant for moist shade or part-Sun, American Spikenard grows to four feet tall with greenish white blooms July-August followed by clusters of reddish-purple berries favoured by Orioles, Thrashers, Waxwings and others. Diverse pollinators from bees and butterflies to beetles are attracted to the blooms. Spikenard dies back each fall and reemerges in spring.
