EcoExplorer Camp
EcoExplorer offers a unique opportunity to older children who are interested in nature and outdoor recreation. This camp unites the awareness of environmental topics with the practical experience of outdoor skills to form a greater appreciation of nature. Campers are encouraged to take part in the world around. We explore solutions to some environmental issues by participating in teambuilding challenges, games, arts, community service projects and hands-on experience. These two 4-week sessions include field trips, beach days, theme days and an overnight experience. During the third week, there will be an adventure-filled 3-day, 2-night camping trip. Pre- and Post-care is available; see page 25 of the Camp Guide. Location: Lighthouse Nature Center
Age: 10-11 yrs., entering grades 5 and 6
Fee: $885 R/$1290 NR
Session I: Sustainability Campers will discover the importance of sustainable living. A healthy ecosystem is vital to all forms of life, from the tiniest organisms to the tallest trees. We will learn how we can make small changes at home that over time will have an impact worldwide. Campers engage in sustainable activities while enjoying the natural world. No camp July 4.
