Description
Blooming June - July, Early Wild Rose has lightly fragrant, nectar filled blooms. Favored plant of the federally endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee, it attract birds and bees for foraging and nesting habitat. By contrast, cultivated roses, with many petals, often have blooms sterile of nectar or pollen, and are of little value to insects. New growth is nearly thornless. It can spread aggressively in ideal conditions.
